City of Gold Coast coordinates a number of coastal community engagement programs for students and the community to learn about coastal processes, the abundance of sea life and vegetation, and their existence as part of a precious beach ecosystem.
A range of fun and interesting workshop sessions at the beach are scheduled during school holidays.
Visit CoastEd at Griffith University for more information and to book.
The City and Griffith Centre for Coastal Management has developed the CoastEd Program for both primary and secondary school students.

BeachCare encourages the community to be involved in caring for our coastal environment through activities such as planting dune vegetation, removing weeds and collecting litter.
Anyone can be involved and new volunteers are welcome. For groups of more than 10 people please contact the BeachCare coordinator to book.
There are BeachCare sites across the Gold Coast from Paradise Point to Rainbow Bay. Activities are held on Saturday mornings, see the BeachCare calendar for dates.

If you would like to get involved in coastal management activities, the Federal Government's Landcare grant scheme supports community groups.
Funding has been made available for various coastal projects including the protection of sea turtle nesting sites, construction of interpretive trails for coastal areas and the monitoring of seadragon, grey nurse shark and seagrass populations.
The City encourages local groups to submit proposals for Landcare grants and assist with in-kind support, technical information and the completion of applications.
