Gold Coast Libraries encourages and supports teachers and students by providing access to information in libraries and online. Membership information is available on the website.

Librarians from your local library are happy to visit your school on request. These sessions are tailored to suit the needs of your staff or students and are designed to highlight the resources available that support the curriculum, in addition to the school library resources. To arrange a visit please phone your nearest library.

Online Homework help resources are grouped to assist with the core study areas. Login using your library membership number and PIN for 24/7 access – anywhere, any time to all Online library resources.

If you want to learn more about the Gold Coast, past and present, the Local Studies library has a unique collection of Gold Coast resources for everyone’s use.

  • Need a guest speaker on local history? Our librarians regularly visit schools to share the history of the Gold Coast with students and teachers. The library has developed a diverse range of presentations suitable for students at all levels.
  • Looking for vintage photographs? The library has an amazing collection of photos dating from the late 1800s through to modern times. Thousands of these images are available on the library catalogue. Simply select the Picture Gold Coast link and start searching.
  • Prefer a local history display? The library has a collection of display kits that are available for borrowing by teachers and non-profit organisations. The display kits include large photographs on a wide range of themes to be used in support of the Australian curriculum.
  • Local studies staff may be available to visit your school and talk about the local area.
  • Want historical information about your local area? From Advancetown to Yatala, historical snapshots of Gold Coast suburbs and localities can be found online.

Kids space is our online library for kids and includes learning games, eBooks, homework help and more.

The Special Needs Library (at Nerang Library) has a range of resources that support developmental and rehabilitation needs such as fine and gross motor skills, speech and language skills. Visit the website to find out how teachers working in Special Education units can access these resources.

Ask a librarian service is an online service where students and teachers can submit a research, membership or other enquiry. Responses are usually via email.
