Community development

The City of Gold Coast offers support to assist more than 1700 not-for-profit community groups operating on the Gold Coast. Groups provide community safety, social connection, sporting and recreational activities along with supporting vulnerable residents. Our local community groups and volunteers contribute to the liveability and wellbeing of our city. See below for details of our free workshop program for not-for-profit groups.

The City of Gold Coast also develops and maintains partnerships with representatives from community groups, local businesses and other levels of government in order to support the sustainability of community groups. Our City Connect program provides opportunities for residents to meet their neighbours and interact with others through free or low-cost community activities. See details of upcoming activities on this page below.

To find out about many other activities and programs in your local area, view our Events calendar or see our Online Gold Coast Community Directory.
